Traditional Summer – By Dan Leicht – @Deeliopunk #FridayReads

Red and gold ornaments still hang on the small tradition in the corner

the red and white coat of a bear holding up the makeshift star

as it’s placed over the top of the chest high placeholder

Posters mark the walls on either side, yellow, black, white, green

nothing festive, but belong no more than the misplaced reminder of Winter

A room bare of taste is where we spend all of our time

Tables with coffee stains beside coasters hold our feet

A glass door stays open to let Summer air burn the tan carpet

and cool the steaming mugs of vanilla roasted energy, no cream, no sugar
